In 2014, Yamaha will introduce its new product, the YZ450F. Yamaha YZ450F is a development of the previous generation. Various changes were made to provide comfort for Yamaha YZ450F's users. Among other changes, the wrap-around exhaust header, only the clutch cover, water pump cover, and cylinder.

2014 YZ increase the capacity of the air box intake increased 265% claimed. Form of air filters also revised and increased the surface area (the air filter is located right behind the steering head, where the fuel cap would be in a traditional dirt bike). The volume of air rushing through the added intake port profile changed, with one millimeter valve is now 37mm wider than the previous model. Also revised intake cam profile.
Single Source 2014 new piston, with a flatter crown shape of four-valve heads. New crown profile improve combustion chamber volume by 0.9cc, and Yamaha claims improved combustion for low to mid torque feeling. A new surface treatment on the piston skirt is also promising to reduce friction.

The 4-titanium valve cylinder head fit with the new fuel injection system recalibrated to give a feeling of tremendous power throughout the rpm range. Customized fuel injection system uses 44mm throttle body fed by a high pressure pump less battery power to ensure optimum fuel atomization and air / fuel calibration for a good read in a variety of driving conditions. YZ450F instantly adjust to changing air / fuel depending on altitude and temperature, for machines that provide no matter what the conditions.
The new aluminum Bilateral Beam frame offers exceptional rigidity balance and, with new arrangements to have front and rear suspension to lead the class, providing unmatched lightweight handling and cornering. For 2014, the steering head pipe moved 10mm closer to the rider, making the chassis more compact dimensions and put more weight on the front wheel bias which translates into more precise handling character and instinctive.
Accessory GYTR ® Power Tuner lets owners adjust the air / fuel mixture and ignition timing maps to match engine performance characteristics to the rider and track conditions in a matter of seconds with the push of a few buttons.
Chassis / Suspension Yamaha YZ450FA newly designed aluminum Bilateral Beam frame adopted where pipe head moved 10mm closer to the rider. The overall dimensions roughly equal to the frame of the 2013 YZ250F. This gives the YZ450F new compact chassis that provides the most intuitive handling in the 450 class motocross.
Aluminum muffler is positioned closer to the center of gravity of the machine as it is almost entirely concealed by side plates. Layout allows shorter, lighter and sub frame also contributes to mass centralization for light handling feel.
The front suspension has been proven KYB ® Air-Oil forks separated. This specification adopts new inner and outer tubes combined with optimized suspension settings. New rear suspension is also equipped with the new location of the reservoir and spring specifications with optimized settings for ideal damping characteristics to match the dimensions of the new chassis.
New larger 22mm diameter front axle and new top triple clamp to improve rigidity and improve handling of front end feel. Now rubber mounted handlebar mount for increased comfort and reduced vibration handlebar.
A new layout for the fuel tank and air cleaner box gives the machine a sleek feeling between the legs and the position of the fuel tank closer to the center of mass of the bike which improves handling feel. Furthermore, the air box is now accessible without removing the fuel tank for easy servicing of new clean air element greater.
A new narrow radiator design contributes to slimming down radiator panel area.
